In an Age of Aging Aircraft

The Aging Aircraft Conference 2007 (Palm Springs Calif, 16th to 19th April) addressed military and commercial aircraft issues that needed solutions and presented technical developments, improvements and case histories describing technical applications and solutions. Aircraft structures continued as the central theme, however additional emphasis for this conference was placed on electrical wiring systems, DMSMS (Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages), corrosion, engines, subsystems, avionics and data collection models. In addition, training courses were conducted at the outset on Monday, April 16th with topics including FAA Regulations (present and pending), DMSMS and Wiring. Composites got special attention (damage detection and repair - plus aging concerns).
