April 3, 2011 Dubuque, IA Embraer EMB-135KL N377SK Around 0843 CDT, flight CHQ 5019, a/c sustained substantial damage when the jet bridge was blown into the side of the forward fuselage as the a/c prepared for departure from the Dubuque Regional Airport (DBQ). The captain, FO, flight attendant & 44 passengers were not injured. 47 Un-injured A/c was registered to & operated by Chautauqua Airlines, Inc. April 3, 2011 Chesapeake, VA Replogle Lancair 360 N164T Around 1630 EDT, an experimental amateur-built a/c was substantially damaged when it impacted terrain from CPK. Pilot & passengers were fatally injured. A witness said the engine began missing and sputtering after take off from runway 23. The nose of the a/c dropped sharply after a 90 to 110 degs of turn. 2 Fatal The wreckage was located at the edge of a grassy field about 1,200 ft, 310 degs magnetic from the departure end of runway 23. *Preliminary NTSB data.
April 4, 2011 Congo, Democratic Republic Canadair CL-600-2B19 Regional Jet CRJ-100ER 4L-GAE A/c was destroyed at Kinshasa-N'Djili Airport (FIH), which carried 29 passengers and four crewmembers. One occupant survived the crash. A/c was operating on the final leg of the flight when it crashed in rainy weather. 32 Fatal A/c operated on behalf of the United Nations Organizations stabilizations Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) on flight UNO834 from FIH to Kisangani (FKI) and Entebbe (EBB), Uganda and return. *Preliminary Wiki-data from Aviation Safety Network.
April 5, 2011 Okeechobee, FL Cessna 172RG N5284V Around 2130 EDT a/c was substantially damaged when both the main landing gear collapsed during the landing roll at OBE. A/c entered the left downwind leg of the traffic pattern to land on runway 23. The CTI put his hand on the landing gear handle to verify the landing gear was down. The nose landing gear remained extended, the a/c veered left and came to rest @ the edge of the runway. 2 Un-injured An FAA inspector found tire marks on the runway that were approximately 5 to 6 feet wide and then they narrowed to 2 to 3 fee wide for the remainder of the marks leading to the a/c. April 10, 2011 McComb, MS Cessna 310R N100TK Around 0434 CDT a/c was destroyed when it collided w/ trees during approach to MCB. The flight was in radar & radio contact with ATC @ 4,500ft msl. Pilot reported to ATC controller that he had MCB in sight and discontinued his ATC flight following. A/c initiated a left turn & last recorded radar was at 0432, w/ an altitude of 2,600 ft. 3 Fatal A debris path originated w/tree strikes, extended for approx. 400ft. A/c came to rest inverted in a creek, consumed by a post crash fire. The digital engine analyzer was recovered from the cockpit and fwd to NTSB. *Preliminary NTSB data.
April 10, 2011 Biddeford, ME Cessna 402B N402RC Around 1805 EDT, a/c was destroyed when it impacted a house. The airline transport pilot was fatally injured. A/c flew to ACK, picked up a passenger, flew to HPN, dropped passenger and intended to land in PWM. Pilot requested a destination change. A/c overflew the south end of B19 @ approx 1,000ft above msl and took a slight left turn in the direction of B19. 1 Fatal A/c impacted 4 trees and came to rest on the roof of a single story residence that was located approx. 1,500 ft to the NE of runway 24 threshold, a post crash fire ensued. The left wing, nose section, cabin and empennage was thermally damaged, left engine was located inside the residence. *Preliminary NTSB data.
April 21, 2011 Sikkim, India Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Military Rotorcraft departed from Sevoke Rd near Siliguri in West Bengal for Shiv Mandir Airport. April 21, 2011 Manaus Airport, Brazil Embraer/ Piper EMB-810C Seneca PT-EFS A/c crashed @ 14:52 LT, one minute after takeoff on the runway at Terminal 2 Int'l Airport in Manaus. 7 Fatal Three men, three women and one child were killed.
