August 21,2011 Marshall, MI Aero Commander Callair A-9B N7638V Around 1758 EDT, a/c was substantially damaged when it impacted terrain following a glider tow operation at Brooks Field Airport (RMY). The pilot received fatal injuries The right wind of the tow plane dropped after landing and it entered a 60-70-deg nose down attitude. A/c completed about one-half of a rotation before a witness lost sigh of it. A/c impacted an open field about 1/2 west of the departure end of the runway, sustaining substantial damage to the wings & fuselage. 1 Fatal The wind was from 280 degrees at 14 knots, gusting to 19 knots, about the time of the accident. *Preliminary NTSB Data
August 21, 2011 Mt. Clemens, MI Boeing A75N1(PT17) N49739 Around 1335 EDT, an attempted aerial transfer of an individual (wing walker) from the a/c resulted in a fatal injury to the wing walker during an air show performance at Selfridge Air National Guard Base (MTC). Neither a/c were damage, nor was either pilot. The wing walker fell during their third pass and did not let go of the a/c until his arm was wrapped around the skid on the helicopter-- he later died at a local hospital. 1 Fatal

August 27, 2011 St. Ferdinand, Canada Robinson R44 C-GEBY A/c sustained substantial damage when it impacted terrain shortly after take off near St. Ferdinand, Quebec, Canada. The pilot and three passengers sustained fatal injuries. 4 Fatal *Factual NTSB Data

August 28, 2011 South Malekula, Vanuatu, Vanuatu Hughes 369D YJ-HEL Around 1500 UCT, a/c collided w/ground after the attached long-line became entangled in the rotor system. The helicopter was operated by Vanuatu Helicopters under the pertinent civil regulations. The pilot and two passengers received minor injuries. August 31, 2011 Provincetown, MA Piper PA-28-181 N6249C Around 2235 EDT, a/c was substantially damaged when it impacted trees and terrain shortly after departure from Provincetown Municipal Airport (PVC). The pilot and passenger was seriously injured. 2 Serious The weather conditions reported at PVC about the time of the accident included clear skies and calm winds. September 2, 2011 Nightmute, AK Cessna 208A N207DR Around 1335 ADT, a/c (Caravan 208B), and a Cessna 207 a/c collided in midair approx. 9 miles north of Nightmute. The Cessna 207 pilot received fatal injuries. Both airplanes sustained substantial damage during the midair collision. 1 Fatal
