Webinar Tackles Employee Shortages
Keeping employees happy is always cheaper than recruiting and training new employees and Aviation Today’s latest webinar will cover not only how to attract, but retain, quality employees. Scheduled for 11 am, Thursday, March 13, The Aviation Job Market: How to Find – and Keep – the Right People features top industry speakers to discuss the growing personnel shortages not only in the cockpit but in the front office, control towers and with regulators.
Jobs for crucial positions, such as pilot, mechanic and engineer, go begging or are plagued by high turnover. Paradoxically, aviation continues to enjoy unprecedented prosperity, despite the specter of recession that haunts the rest of the overall economy. Much of this growth in aviation is propelled by an ever-expanding backlog of aircraft orders and a pressing demand for maintenance work.
Speakers will include Alison Mayo, partner relationship manager for JobTarget, Ramon Lopez editor-in-chief of Air Safety Week and Joy Finnegan editor-in-chief of Aviation Maintenance magazine, who will lend their expertise on:
• The retirement of experienced pilots retire and how can operators get the men and women they need to fly their aircraft;
• The difficulty of the burgeoning avionics industry in finding capable engineers with the right skills. How can companies compete for the best engineering talent? Which hiring and retention policies are worth emulating?
• The demand for maintenance personnel at a time when passenger miles and orders for new aircraft increase along with upkeep on aging aircraft. How can the MRO field find the right people for the right job – and what are the best policies to keep them?
• How online Job Boards can assist Human Resources managers in their quest to create the best workplace? and
• What are the ramifications for air safety in all of this workplace turmoil?
