Unlike Delta, Continental and American which reported regional affliliate contributions down last week, United Express contributions to United’s bottom line were up, according to the company.
Related Story United Express carriers contributed $71 million to UAL Corporation’s $537 million operating income in the second quarter, an improvement in regional contributions of $25 million over the second quarter of 2006. For the second quarter, regional passenger revenues increased 5.7 percent to $805 million. United’s operating income jumped 107 percent year-over-year, resulting in an operating margin of 10.3 percent – more than twice the margin the company achieved in the second quarter of 2006.
