United Discounts Bag Fees

United is discounting its first bag check fee by 20 percent beginning November 10 and ending January 31. It also canceled plans to increase the second-bag fee from $25 to $50 one way. Meanwhile, Delta became the last legacy carrier to add the first-bag fees, indicating that despite its hope that not incorporating the fee begun five months ago by AMR, it would draw new riders. Delta said that the increase in carry on bags indicates passengers do not see Delta as any different.
