Regionals at NBAA
Amidst the glitz and the glam of the National Business Aircraft Association show, tucked away in a couple of corner booths, are ExpressJet and Pinnacle, each with their own mission. Pinnacle is looking for pilots – along with the rest of the industry – and as its rep said, “you’ve got to go where the pilots are.” XJT, on the other hand, is here to promote its non-airline side of the business – maintenance, repair and overhaul and its newly burgeoning charter business. A year ago, its charter business was still in its fledgling stages as the airline looked around for new business opportunities for the 69 Embraer 145s that were coming off the Continental Express contract. The company just landed full, 36-week, season contracts for a couple of NASCAR racing teams, adding them to their portfolio of charter clients.
