New Webinar: Going Green Threatens Airlines

With American and Northwest announcing new green efforts, airlines are capitalizing on current climate change concerns. The announcements come just in time for AviationToday.com’s latest Webinar which will discuss the greening of the aviation industry. What is so interesting in all this is the fact that, globally, transportation accounts for only 20 percent of C02 emissions with airlines contributing only two percent and road transport over 80 percent. Any focus on airlines over tougher problems such as trucks and cars ignores the fact that fuel efficiency has been increased by 70 percent over the last 40 years with research working on gaining another 50 percent by 2020.
AviationToday.com experts, including Anupam Bhargava, general manager, line maintenance services for Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners, Washington Post National Aviation Reporter Del Wilber, and Aviation Maintenance Editor Joy Finnegan, will discuss how the industry is embracing “clean” technology and how it will impact the bottom line. The ecological focus threatens to stunt the growth of airlines just now recovering from 9/11. Find out how by signing up to the webinar.
