Montenegro Airlines will be getting two more Embraer ERJ 195s as part of an $118.5 million deal cut with Embraer if the purchase rights for two more aircraft are exercised. The list price of an ERJ 195 is $39.5 million. Interestingly, the ERJ 195 will be configured with 116 seats in a single-class layout. Delivery is set for next year. Montenegro plans to use the aircraft for key European markets including London and Moscow.
"Montenegro Airlines is joining a select group of airlines, worldwide, that have chosen to operate ERJ 190 or ERJ 195 jets, including, among others, US Airways, Air Canada, KLM, Lufthansa, Britain's Flybe, France's Regional (Air France Group), and Finnair," stated Mauro Kern, executive vice president, Airline Market, in touting his theory that airlines are using the jet to right size routes and complement service with larger jets.

Last June, Embraer delivered the first ERJ 195 to Montenegro through a leasing operation carried out by GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS). This leasing contract includes another aircraft of the same model for delivery next year that will increase the airline's fleet to three ERJ 195s by mid-2009.
