Mokulele Grounded Briefly

Mokulele was grounded for several hours yesterday by the FAA which found that the airline allegedly failed to provide training for use of life preservers and fire extinguishers during a routing inspection. The airline was forced to cancel eight roundtrip flights, according to Pacific Business News. The discovery was made on Tuesday and Mokulele ceased operations Tuesday night and conducted the training overnight completing it at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday. The action followed Mokulele's recent deal with Republic Airways Holdings and its Shuttle America to operate ERJ 170s on inter-island service.
