Mesa board members investors, executives and family members put their money into Mesa stock after it released its devastating fourth quarter results. Just prior to the release, when it announced it would miss its required 10K filing date, the stock was at $2.29 but the Mesa investors spent $200,000 for approximately 66,000 shares at between $2.63 and $3.33 per share. The investors include CEO Jonathan Ornstein, his mother, son and daughter, Executive Vice President Brian Gilman, as well as board members Regional Aviation Partners Executive Director Maurice Parker, Richard Thayer, Carlos Bonilla, Joseph Altibello and Peter Nostrand. The move shows confidence the airline will turn around this year, although it still faces the Aloha Airlines lawsuit, which follows on its loss to Hawaiian Airlines, which does not bode when for its success in its second suit.
