The sharklets improve the aerodynamics of the aircraft with a fuel burn reduction of up to four percent, allowing increased range and payload capability for operators.

Lufthansa has an order for 21 additional A320 family aircraft equipped with sharklets, with deliveries expected to be complete in 2015, Airbus said.
