Frontier Grows by Serving Smaller Markets

Frontier indicated that its growth will come from expanded services to Mexico and smaller points that are not normally served by mainline carriers such as Aspen and Vail. The announcement opens a window into the plans it has for its new regional network for which it currently has a request for proposal out to replace and expand services now provided by Horizon. In addition, it has ordered 10 Bombardier Q400s. The move also avoids direct head-on competition with Southwest by serving smaller points. The airline is trying to diversify from its 100 percent reliance on its Denver hub by serving markets that don’t connect there.
