Embraer Books First Brazilian Operator of E-Jets

In a deal worth between $730 million and $1.46 billion, Brazilian airline BRA Transportes Aereos signed a preliminary  agreement for 20 firm orders of the Embraer ERJ-195 jet, plus 20 options. The final contract should be completed, shortly. The new BRA ERJ 195s will be configured with 118 single-class seats, with deliveries scheduled to start in the second half of 2008. With today's announcement at the Paris Air Show, BRA will be the first Brazilian operator of the aircraft. BRA also signed a leasing contract with GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) to operate two other new ERJ 195 jets. First delivery of the leased E-Jets will occur in the first half of 2008.
