DOT Issues $100,000 Fine to Caribbean Airlines
The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) issued a $100,000 fine to Trinidad and Tobago-based Caribbean Airlines for a tarmac delay at New York's JFK Airport last August that lasted more than four hours.
DOT said the airline failed to provide passengers with access to food and water. The plane was reportedly delayed because of severe weather conditions and the carrier's need to refuel the aircraft.
The agency requires airlines to provide adequate food and water no later than two hours after an aircraft is delayed on the tarmac. More
