Cessna Expands its European Footprint
Cessna has signed an agreement to acquire Jet Aviation’s aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities in Zurich, Switzerland, and Düsseldorf, Germany. The Wichita, Kan.-based business jet manufacturer said the new facilities will begin operating as Cessna Citation service centers in January.
The two companies did not release the financial details of the transaction.
"Germany and Switzerland are strategically located where a majority of Citations in the region are based and we are enthusiastic about bringing more service options to our customers in Europe," said Scott Ernest, president and CEO at Cessna.
The acquisition will bring Cessna’s number of worldwide factory-operated Citation service centers to 15 across the United States, Europe and Singapore. The company also plans to increase its European sales force by adding satellite offices at some of its recently acquired service centers.
