Bombardier Earnings Show Steady Improvement

In releasing its fourth quarter the year ended January 31, 2007 results, Bombardier’s net income was $268 million, or $0.14 per share, compared to $249 million, or $0.13 per share, last fiscal year, which included a 71 percent increase in deliveries of Q-Series airliners for fiscal year 2007 and new CRJ orders. However, sales remain stronger in its business jet division. The Q orders were made by Frontier Airlines, Algeria's Tassili Airlines and Air New Zealand along with a 2007 order by Pinnacle for 15 Q400 turboprops. The restructuring of U.S. airlines, is illustrated by new orders from Northwest Airlines for 36 CRJ900 aircraft and in 2007, a 30-aircraft order from Delta for CRJ900s aircraft. The period was also marked by the recent launch of the CRJ1000 regional jet. Related Story
