AviancaTaca Orders 15 ATR 72-600s

Latin American aviation group AviancaTaca placed a $700 million order for 15 ATR 72-600s, including options for an additional 15 aircraft.

The group is looking to increase its network capacity to destinations in Central America, according to AviancaTaca CEO Fabio Ramirez.

“This is indeed a major contract for ATR as we are signing with a well-reputed and leading-edge air transportation provider in the Americas. We are proud to be a part of the expansion of AviancaTaca,” said Filippo Bagnato, CEO of ATR.

ATR will begin delivering turboprop aircraft in June 2013.
