on Friday completed the 1,000th delivery of its twin-engine wide-body A330 family aircraft, an A330-300 powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines to Cathay Pacific Airways.
Cathay Pacific and sister carrier Dragonair operate the world's largest fleet of A330s, with 56 currently in commercial service.
“The A330 has played an integral part in Cathay Pacific’s growth," said Ivan Chu, chief operating officer of Cathay Pacific. The airline has now taken delivery of 39 of the larger A330-300 variant.
The Hong Kong-based carrier has outstanding orders for 10 additional A330-300s, and also has orders for 48 A350 XWB family aircraft.
