Air Moldova Takes ERJ 190

Embraer signed a firm order with the Moldovan flag carrier Air Moldova for one ERJ 190 jet. The contract includes purchase rights for another aircraft of the same model. Delivery is scheduled for March 2010.
Air Moldova links the Moldovan capital, Chisinau, to 13 cities in Europe and the Middle East and intends to deploy its new ERJ 190 for opening new markets and complementing its narrow-body fleet. The aircraft will be configured in a single-class cabin with 114 seats.
"The EMBRAER 190 is the right aircraft for carrying out our strategy of network development," said Vasile Botnari, CEO of Air Moldova. "It is also a good complement for our current narrow-body fleet, rightsizing some of the routes now operated by Airbus A320s, without jeopardizing passenger comfort."
