ASA Pilots Furloughed

After announcing it is adding 10 CRJ 900s to replace 20 CRJ 200s, Atlantic Southeast said for the first time in its history its is being forced to layoff of 80 members of its 1,700-member pilot corps citing the economy which is driving down demand. Delta already announce it plans to reduce its capacity by another six to nine percent this year, on top of the cuts made last year. Related Story The move, effective February 9, is restricted to the pilot corps but the company has also offered voluntary retirements and leaves company wide.
