In an effort to cope with the current fuel environment, ExpressJet will decrease capacity beginning August 23 by about 30 percent from its summer schedule. "Our fall schedule reduction is partially offset by adding service in short-haul routes," ExpressJet's President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Ream told shareholders at last week’s annual meeting. "We are encouraged by the recent booking pace for summer travel in our branded flying and trends we are seeing in our short-haul markets."
After the schedule change, ExpressJet Airlines will serve Los Angeles/Ontario as its busiest city with 21 daily departures and added connection options, followed by San Diego with 11 daily departures and New Orleans with 10 daily departures and additional connecting opportunities.
ExpressJet will also continue to provide non-stop service to 20 cities, including Albuquerque, Austin, Boise, Colorado Springs, El Paso, Fresno, Jacksonville, Kansas City, MO, Long Beach, Monterey, Raleigh/Durham, Reno, Sacramento, San Antonio, Santa Barbara, Spokane, and Tucson.
Ream said the fall flight schedule changes will continue through Nov. 15, 2008, but will be reevaluated for the busy, holiday travel season.
