Don Bornhorst, who served as president of Comair since 2006, was named senior vice president-Delta Connection paving the way for industry veteran John Selvaggio to succeed him at the Comair helm. Bornhorst succeeds Wayne Aaron, who will return to his post as vice president – Strategic Planning and Business Development. Bornhorst will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the regional division which includes nine Delta Connection carriers. He will focus on making the partnerships more seamless with Delta operations.
Bornhorst came up through Comair’s ranks working in every operating group and as chief financial officer before he assumed the presidency. He also served as vice president of Information Systems and senior vice president of customers overseeing both customer and in-flight services.
Most recently heading up Delta’s ill-fated Song operation, John Selvaggio hails from good regional stock having served as president of Wings West, then at American Eagle which acquired the regional carrier. Selvaggio joined Delta in 1998 to coordinate the acquisitions of Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Comair. ASA was sold to Delta Connection SkyWest Inc.in 2005. He also served as senior vice president for Delta’s Airport Customer Service division as well as head of US Airways Express.
