ERJ 170 Approved for LCY

The Embraer ERJ 170 gained certification from the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency and the European Aviation Safety Agency to serve London City Airport. The first of the E-Jets family to be certified for the steep-approach certification, the 170 will be followed by the ERJ 190, according to the manufacturer, which said that certification is set for December 2008. LCY requires a glide slope of 5.5 degrees compared to the standard 3.0 degrees.
