Quick Takes
Jazz
Jazz is adding capacity to Eastern Canada in the wake of the shut down of CanJet Airlines. Jazz and Air Canada (ACE) will add flights and larger aircraft on an as-needed basis this month, before launching four new flights beginning in October. Using the Embraer 175, the company will serve Halifax-Toronto with 10 weekday flights while Halifax-Montreal and Halifax-Ottawa will be served with the Bombardier (BBD) CRJ for a total of seven and six weekday flights, respectively. Deer Lake will also get CRJ service with four weekday flights.
Jazz is also adding twice weekly non-stop flights between Winnipeg and Las Vegas (LAS), using the CRJ705 regional gets with 10 executive class and 65 hospitality seats. Air Canada is the lead carrier offering the most non-stops between Canada and LAS and, with Jazz's new services, will offer up to 55 weekly flights to LAS.
Midwest Airlines
Midwest Airlines (MEH) is offering reduced fares for travel through Feb. 13, 2007 on both Midwest Airlines and Midwest Connect. Sale fares are available for most cities served by Midwest.
