Quick Takes

Regional cargo carrier Alpine Air posted a net profit of $622,011 for the quarter ending Jan. 31, versus a net loss of $168,803 for the same quarter a year ago.

It also recorded an increase in revenues, which was primarily due to rate adjustments negotiated with the U.S. Postal Service (RAN, July 18, 2005).

Revenue for the quarter ended Jan. 31, was $7.97 million, an increase of about 53 percent over revenues of $5.21 million for the same period in 2005.

"For the second straight quarter, we are happy to report strong profits, which included the Christmas period," said Gene Mallette, Alpine Air CEO.
