Quick Takes -- Porter, Embraer
Porter Airlines Returns to Mt. Tremblant
Porter Airlines is returning to the slopes of Mont Tremblant, Que., with a more frequent winter schedule from Toronto City Center Airport. Flights from downtown Toronto begin Dec. 19, as often as five times per week.
Mont Tremblant International Airport is accessible from downtown Toronto after only a 70-minute flight, bringing Eastern North America’s number one ski resort easily within reach. Flights are available Thursday, Friday, Saturday and twice Sunday, depending on time of year. Porter is partnering with Ultimate Ski Vacations this season, to provide air-inclusive packages including flights, transfers, lifts and accommodation.
ERJs Can Get GEN-X Class 3 EFB
DAC International Inc. announced the GEN-X Class 3 Electronic Flight Bag System has been approved for Class 2 installation in a series of Embraer Regional Jets. GEN-X meets the requirements of professional users demanding a true avionics grade Class 3 EFB, however it’s offered in the price range previously found only in Class 2 EFB products, said DAC.
GEN-X features an almost total touch-screen design with the only hard buttons being display-on/off and brightness. The full touch control allows complete user flexibility in 3rd party software, as well as extremely intuitive operation that keeps down or eliminates training costs. GEN-X effectively bridges the gap between Class 2 and Class 3 EFB’s to bring professional operators a cost-effective retrofit solution that supports the users’ Windows based applications along with a full suite of EFB applications.
GENESYS supports digital chart data from Maptech, Jeppesen or Lido. A full suite of software modules include applications to support easy viewing, handling and updating of publications as well as weather, performance, checklist, cameras, flight papers, third-party applications and more.
GENESYS also provides operators the back-office server side software for complete centralized control and automatic update of all charts, publications, software and data.
