ALPA's ASA Pilots Ratify New Contract
After five years of negotiating for a new collective bargaining agreement with their employer, Delta Connection Atlantic Southeast Airlines pilots have voted to ratify a new contract. Voting on the Tentative Agreement concluded Tuesday, November 20 at 10:00 a.m. EST. A full 81 percent of the 1,239 ASA pilots who were eligible to vote did so. ERJ 190 Delivered to Mexican Regional
Embraer delivered the first of four ERJ 190s to Aeroméxico Connect, a subsidiary of Aeroméxico and the launch customer of the E-Jets in the country. The new aircraft, to be operated under a leasing contract with GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS), has a dual-class configuration – 11 executive and 88 coach.
The new ERJ 190 aircraft is part of the fleet renovation and expansion program of the Mexican consortium, including Aeroméxico Connect, which currently operates 27 Embraer ERJ 145 jets on low-density regional, domestic and international markets out of Monterrey International Airport, in Mexico. Aeroméxico and Aeroméxico Connect are part of Aeroméxico Consortium, created in January 2006.
“We are proud to be the first airline in Mexico to add to its fleet the ERJ 190 jet,” stated Andrés Conesa, Aeroméxico CEO. “Aeroméxico Connect will expand our domestic and international routes.”
ExpressJet Implements AirportIQ System
ExpressJet Airlines selected GCR and Associates to implement its aviation management systems to manage its activities at facilities across the United States. Since ExpressJet's operations are diversified, the airline needed a central system to manage facility lease agreements and facility usage. ExpressJet selected GCR's Airport Business Management (ABM) system, which is part of its AirportIQ suite, to enable it to more efficiently maintain and manage information on its entire network from its headquarters in Houston, TX.
"With the use of this system, ExpressJet can centralize information for all of the facilities where they do business," said Phillip Brodt, Vice President of GCR and Associates.
GCR, based in New Orleans, Louisiana, is a privately held information technology firm and is an industry leader in the development of automated management systems for airports, aeronautics departments, and federal governments.
Air Whisky Aircraft Stuck in Mud
An Air Wisconsin aircraft missed its turn at Nashville and became stuck in the mud. The aircraft was inbound from Philadelphia and was scheduled to land at 5:18 pm. There were no injuries amongst the 46 passengers on board who were loaded on to airport buses for transport to the terminal. The Associated Press quoted Spokesperson Barb Jones as saying the pilots did not realize they couldn’t make the turn and decided to stop and the aircraft slid off the runway into the mud.
