Midwest Air Group added an additional member to its board, naming James Boris to the ninth board position. Boris is currently chair of JB Capital Management, a private investment firm. He served as a stockbroker with PaineWebber, rising to become an executive vice president and member of its board, as well as the boards of Shearson Lehman Brothers and Kemper Financial Companies. He was also president of Canaan Capital Corporation and chair and CEO of Invest Financial Corporation. Before his retirement in 1999, he served as chair and CEO of EVEREN Capital Corporation.
NBAA
FAA's Katherine Perfetti received the National Business Aviation Association's Silk Scarf Award, traditionally given to individuals in recognition of special contributions to the business aviation community. Throughout her career, said NBAA, Perfetti has always considered and responded to the input and concerns of the business aviation community. She joined the FAA in 1978 as an aviation safety inspector. She spent 13 years in Kansas City and St. Louis field offices before transferring to Washington where she served at several levels including management positions in the air transportation and general aviation divisions. She represented FAA on numerous high-level programs and has been responsible for significant safety initiatives for both the air carriers and general aviation segments. She managed and implemented rulemaking projects, including the commuter rule, Fractional Ownership Aviation Rulemaking Committee and the Parts 135/125 Aviation Rulemaking Committee. She holds an airline transport pilot certificate with several ratings.
SkyWest
SkyWest (SKYW) named three new directors as a result of a realignment within the People Department. Suzanne Stephensen, a 16-year veteran, is director-people programs and recruitment, responsible for employment administration, recognition, travel center, travel contracts and administration. Ryan Quinlan is director-employee relations, compensation and performance, responsible for employee relations, workers' compensation and employee compensation and performance. Amber Hunter is director-corporate communications, development and marketing responsible for media relations, marketing, business and digital media development as well as leadership training and development.
