Oh Canada, Here Comes Chautauqua
With an eye on international flights, Chautauqua Airlines [RJET] recently petitioned DOT so that it can fly its new Embraer [ERJ] 170s into Canada. In its application, Chautauqua did not reveal for which of its four code-share partners it would be flying to Canada. It only indicated that is would be flying as market condition warrant. In a poll of other carriers, no one objected to the new service, according to a letter the Chautauqua filed in support of its application.
Chautauqua currently flies the 70-seat plane for United Airlines [UALQ], but it will begin flying the larger RJ for Delta Air Lines [DAL] later this year.
