NTSB Forum on Runway Safety Next Week

With regional aircraft involved in an increasing number of U.S. runway incidents, regional executives are expected to attend and tune into this week’s one-day forum on runway incursions set for March 27 at the NTSB Board room. It will be webcast as well with access available through the board’s site at www.ntsb.gov. The forum will focus on airport runway incursions and accidents, and potential safety solutions. The scope of the problem, how to avoid runway incursions, educational initiatives and new technologies are expected to be highlighted by panels representing the Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Defense, Flight Safety Foundation, Air Line Pilots Association International, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and the National Air Traffic Controllers Association.
