Goglia Joins AviationToday Webinar Outsourcing on Wednesday
John Goglia, former member of the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and current senior vice president for aviation operations and safety programs for JDA Aviation Technology Solutions has agreed to speak at the April 11th Aviation Maintenance: Trends That Will Affect Your 2007 Bottom Line webinar. With more than 30 years experience in the aviation industry, Goglia was the first NTSB Board Member to hold an FAA aircraft mechanic's certificate. As an NTSB Board Member, Goglia distinguished himself in numerous areas of transportation safety. He played a key role in focusing international attention on the increasing significance of aircraft maintenance in aviation accidents. Notably, he chaired the Board's public hearings on the ValuJet crash into the Florida Everglades which brought maintenance outsourcing to the forefront of safety issues. The new event focuses on aviation maintenance practices and the enormous upheaval and change in the industry. Anyone involved in the maintenance, repair, overhaul, manufacture, purchase, lease, operation, or safety of aircraft should tune in to a timely webinar, scheduled for Wednesday, April 11, at 11:00 a.m. EST. Topics will include:
■ Does increasing reliance on outsourcing adversely affect air safety?
■ How will the increasing globalization of MRO facilities affect safety and readiness?
■ How are organizations coping with the chronic shortage of trained mechanics?
■ What’s in store this year for the booming Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) industry?
■ What are the hottest regions in terms of global MRO expenditures?
■ What are the latest initiatives from major companies to expand their role in the MRO market?
■ What’s the outlook in the aftermarket?
■ What’s the direction of the continued pressure to contain labor and maintenance costs?
