ExpressJet Airlines Joins UATP Network
In the next step to becoming an independent airline, ExpressJet Airlines (XJT) now accepts UATP. Related Story ExpressJet now accepts all UATP payment cards, issued by 13 airlines and accepted by more than 220 airlines and travel agencies worldwide.
"UATP acceptance fits into the strategic plan and was a key request from corporate clients," said Jim Ream, president and CEO of ExpressJet Airlines. "By accepting UATP, ExpressJet will be able to establish its presence in the corporate travel sector."
In February, XJT accomplished a key strategic goal for its independent, branded service in gaining a distribution system for its sales. ExpressJet entered into a multi-year agreement with Worldspan for global distribution. It is the carrier's first distribution partnership and will yield electronic ticketing capabilities. It also taps into both traditional and online travel agencies as well as travelers using Trip Manager ® XE.
