Analysis: American Eagle posted some of its best traffic numbers in the closing months of 2005; however, it wasn't able to match the growth rate set in 2004 over 2003. On average, the 2005 growth rate for each index was about 5 percent off the 2004 pace. While the growth rate was less, the carrier posted new milestones for each traffic measurement.

Analysis: ExpressJet continues to grow, but for the second year in a row the pace of that growth is slower than the previous year. For ExpressJet, 2003 was the year of rapid growth. While traffic grew by 20.5 percent in 2005, ExpressJet's traffic in 2003 grew by 46 percent over 2002. The one exception is a 3.4-point improvement in load factor in 2005 over 2004 compared to the 2.7-point improvement in 2004 over 2003.
