American Eagle Expands to Longer Haul Flights

American Eagle Airlines, the regional affiliate of American Airlines (AMR), begins a daily nonstop flight between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Bishop International Airport in Flint, Mich as well as between Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) and Washington National Airport, DFW-Roswell and Chicago-Fort Walton Beach. All new services launch on September 5.
The airline will use the 70-seat Bombardier (BBD) CRJ-700 jet on the DFW-Flint service and an Embraer (ERJ) ERJ-135 on the Arkansas-Washington, DC service. American Eagle already serves Flint via Chicago but the new service increases passenger options for Mexico and West Coast flights.
American Eagle was the first scheduled airline to commit to serving XNA when it opened eight years ago and already offers nonstop service to New York, Los Angeles and Miami. Including the schedule additions that begin Sept. 5, American, American Eagle and AmericanConnection will operate 24 daily departures from XNA to seven destinations.
Using its ERJ-145s American Eagle will also add new service between DFW and Roswell, N.M. with two daily roundtrips. Continuing its Gulf Coast expansion, Eagle will add a daily nonstop flight between Chicago O'Hare International Airport and Okaloosa Regional Airport at Fort Walton Beach. It already serves DFW-Fort Walton Beach with two daily flights.
