Air Wisconsin Signs Wheel Services Contract With Messier-Bugatti-Tracer
Messier-Bugatti-Tracer (MBT), an FAA 145 certified provider of wheel and brake repair and overhaul services for commercial and business jet aircraft, has signed a three- year contract to provide wheel services for Air Wisconsin, the tenth largest U.S. regional carrier.
The contract will support Air Wisconsin's fleet of 17 BAe-146 jets and 60 Bombardier [Toronto: BBDb] regional jets. MBT operates wheel and brake repair and overhaul shops in Milwaukee, Wis., and Miami, Fla.
"Our regional airline wheel and brake business is growing fast," said Jim Gomez, MBT's executive vice president. "We work hard to develop simple, straight-forward wheel and brake repair and overhaul solutions for our customers and then go the extra mile supporting them. Air Wisconsin is a clear market leader and we're very pleased to be a part of their team."
Daniel Boggs, Air Wisconsin's managing director of maintenance, said, "Turn-time, logistics and cost are all key factors for us. MBT's creativity and responsiveness makes a difference."
Air Wisconsin is a privately held company operating as United Express and AirTran JetConnect. The airline schedules nearly 400 departures per day to 59 cities in 26 states and Canada. As United Express, it feeds United Airlines [OTC: UALAQ] at Chicago, Denver and Washington's Dulles International Airport. As AirTran JetConnect, the company feeds AirTran [NYSE: AAI] at its Atlanta hub, as well as providing service within Florida.
