Embraer

Embraer [ERJ] delivered the first of 12 Embraer 170s to Finnair. The Finnish carrier has configured them to carry 76 passengers in two cabins. Four planes are scheduled to be delivered this year and eight more next year. Finnair has options for eight additional airplanes, which can be converted into either Embraer 175, 190 or 195 models.

CIT Aerospace

Club 328 recently took delivery of its second Dornier 328 turboprop from CIT Aerospace. The aircraft, configured with 12 seats, will be painted at Jet Engineering Technical Support. The Southampton, U.K.-based charter operator obtained the plane at the AvCraft facility in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

SkyQuest International

SkyWest Airlines [SKYW] has retained SkyQuest International to market four Embraer Brasilias, which are still in service in the United Express network.

AJ Walter Aviation

Ethiopian Airlines has retained AJ Walter Aviation to provide engine parts at the carrier's European headquarters in England. In addition to mainline aircraft, the Ethiopian maintenance and engineering facility also handles ATR-42s, Fokker 50s and Dash 6s.

Dell

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has award Dell [DELL] an $80 million blanket purchase agreement to supply computer desktops, laptops, servers and printers to the agency. The FAA now has the authority to spend up to $20 million a year for the next four federal fiscal years.

CAVOK

The CAVOK Group, based in Keller, Texas, has entered into an agreement with the FAA to operate as an FAA certification consultant. Carriers seeking Part 121 status can now retain CAVOK to develop their manual system. In its role as an FAA consultant, the company should be able to help the agency save time and shift its focus from completing an inspection to verifying compliance.

Inflight Canada

American Airlines [AMR] recently selected Inflight Canada's iCache design as part of the airline's Boeing [BA] 767-300 business class seat enhancement program. This new design eliminates all wires within the business class cabin and should provide an enhanced in-flight entertainment system.

Thales

Microtune Inc. [TUNE] has been selected as the tuner supplier of choice for Thales' TopSeries in-flight entertainment systems. Integrating Microtune's MT7432 analog/digital tuner subsystem as the radio frequency electronics, Thales' TopSeries family of airline cabin systems enables premium entertainment and information services for airline passengers Microtune, inventor of and a market leader in single-chip TV tuner technology, develops radio frequency silicon and systems solutions for broadband communications and transportation electronics.

Oberthur Card Systems

Oberthur Card Systems, one of the leading smart card suppliers to the government ID market, has been selected by Verified Identity Pass and Lockheed Martin [LMT] to issue the TotalIDOne smart card solution for use in Orlando International Airport's "Clear" registered traveler pilot program. Lockheed Martin, the technology integrator on the project, has selected Oberthur to manufacture and issue all the IDOne Cosmo cards based on Philips Semiconductors' secure SmartMX smart card IC platform.
