Bombardier
<ST>Bombardier [BBD] has established a Canadian operation of its fractional ownership program, Flexjet. Three Canadian-registered aircraft will comprise the initial fleet for Flexjet Canada. The two Learjet 45s and a Challenger 604 will be based in Montreal with a crew of 10 pilots.
Bombardier has selected Aircraft Braking Systems, a unit of K&F Holdings [KFI], to supply wheels and brakes for its new Challenger 605 business jet. Aircraft Braking has been supplying its carbon brake technology to Bombardier throughout the Challenger series.
AAR
ATR has signed a multi-year contract with AAR [AIR] for overhaul and repair services. ATR will use AAR to support operators of both the ATR-42 and ATR-72 turboprops with cost-effective and timely component support.
GCT Design
GCT Design Organization GmbH will acquire the design organization authority for the Dornier 328Jet and the Dornier 328 turboprop from 328 Support Services GmbH. A unit of Britain's Corporate Jet Services, 328 Support Services purchased AvCraft Aerospace GmbH from the German bankruptcy court administrator, Pluta, in December. GCT will provide ongoing airworthiness and technical support for the aircraft. It already has recruited 45 engineers to work out of the Oberphfaffenhofen airport facilities. 328 Support Services will remain as the certificate type holder and it recently retained some 100 former AvCraft employees at the German plant.
Kinetics
Island Air, a regional carrier in Hawaii, has launched Web check-in and self-check-in kiosks. Kinetics, a unit of NCR Corp. [NCR], has designed the software and kiosks, which were activated this month. The kiosks were installed in Honolulu, Kahului and Kona airports.
AD Aerospace
Cirrus Airlines, which operates both regional scheduled and charter flights in Europe, has purchased AD Aerospace's FlightVu cockpit door monitoring system for its Boeing [BA] 737-500 aircraft. The closed-circuit video system provides the flight crew with real-time video of the area outside the cockpit door.
Jet Source
Jet Source has completed the consolidation at its business aviation center at McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, Calif., of its maintenance and avionics repair stations.
Marquis Jet
Exclusive Resorts has signed a new multi-year partnership agreement with Marquis Jet that continues to provide discounts and additional benefits to Marquis Jet card owners at hundreds of vacation homes managed by Exclusive Resorts. NetJets provides the flights for Marquis Jet.
Dallas Airmotive
Dallas Airmotive recently named three new regional managers. Dave Rassett is the new Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic manager for the TFE731 engines. John Trull will manage the Rolls-Royce program in the Mid-Atlantic market. Denise Turn is the new director of the company's rental engine program.
