CSeries Production Might be in Missouri

After pronouncements that Bombardier is considering a new production facility in the U.S. for its proposed CSeries, the Associated Press reported that the company has looked at Kansas City, Mo. for the $375 million plant. Related Story Legislators are preparing tax credits to lure the company and the $5.9 billion economic impact to the community over two decades including 2,100 jobs expected at the new facility and the 5,200 jobs by ancillary businesses associated with the plant. Bombardier said other states are also interested but the company’s preferred site was Mirabel, originally announced as the production site for the 110- to 130-seat aircraft, and the subject of a deal with the Canadian government. Bombardier looked at a site adjacent to Kansas City International airport for the plant which is expected to be 1.3 million square feet.
