Big Sky Closes
March 8 saw the last flight of Billings-based
Big Sky Airlines, as the airline folded after announcing its demise last December.
Related Story Pilots coordinated their takeoffs from Havre, Glasgow and Sidney to arrive at the same time doing a flyby past Billings Logan Internaitonal Airport at 7:35 am local time. They then circled and landed a few minutes behind schedule, according to the Billings Gazette. Great Lakes Aviation flights to serve Big Sky’s essential air service points won’t begin until June as it works to add aircraft and pilots to its system.

Three E-Jet Options for M1
Embraer and Lebanese
M1 Travel Ltd. confirmed options on three ERJ 190 jets. The deal, valued at $112.5 million, at list price, completes the original order for five aircraft announced in February 2007. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2009.
M1 Travel retains options for two more aircraft, for either the same model or the larger ERJ 195. The airline's ERJ 190s will be configured in a 100-seat layout. In addition, the aircraft will be equipped with a state-of-the-art In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) system with Live TV, and will have steep approach functionality, which allows the aircraft to be operated at London City Airport.
"In confirming this new order, we are able to progress our fleet expansion apace," said Maher Mikati, chair of M1 Travel Ltd. "The ERJ 190 is a unique aircraft, combining passenger comfort and highly attractive economics – our secret weapon in a very competitive market."
