Mesa Senior Management Changes
Mesa Air Group announced management shifts for Jorn Bates, Joe Serratelli, Mickey Moman, Eric Gust, and Zaka Khogyani. "This restructuring will ensure Mesa continues to have an experienced team providing the very best in professional services to our people, passengers and valued airline partners," said Chairman and CEO, Jonathan Ornstein. Jorn Bates was named chief operating officer, Mesa Airlines. Bates joined Mesa Air Group in January 2007 as vice resident East Coast operations and later as president
Freedom Airlines. Prior to joining Mesa, he held various management positions at
Delta during a 15-year tenure, including general manager of operations and performance for the
Delta Connection program.
Serratelli joins Mesa as chief operating officer Freedom Airlines, following a career of more than 25 years with Delta Air Lines. During his time at Delta, Serratelli held a variety of management roles in reservations, sales, field operations, airport customer service and most recently was vice president operations and productivity for
Song, Delta's low cost airline subsidiary.
Both will report to Michael Lotz, president and chief operating officer Mesa Air Group Inc.
Mickey Moman was appointed vice president safety and regulatory compliance - Mesa Air Group. Moman joined Mesa Airlines in October 1987 and was appointed vice president of flight operations in May 2002. Prior to Mesa, Moman served eight years with the
FAA and before that, eight years in the
U.S. Air Force. Moman started with Mesa as a line pilot flying the Beech 99 and has served the company in multiple capacities including pilot, chief pilot, director of operations, vice president training and most recently as vice president flight operations - Mesa Airlines.
Eric Gust was appointed vice president flight operations Mesa Airlines. Gust joined Mesa in February 1995 in Bull Head City, Ariz., as a mechanic and inspector on the Beech 1900Ds. In February 1997, he transferred to the Internal Evaluations department, working as an airworthiness auditor. He is qualified as a pilot on the CRJ and was most recently vice president safety and regulatory compliance. Gust obtained his Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from
Metropolitan State College of Denver.
Zaka Khogyani was appointed director of operations Mesa Airlines. Khogyani joined Mesa in 1995 and has held various positions in flight operations and the Operations Center, most recently as senior director dispatch for Mesa Airlines and previously vice president of flight operations for Air Midwest. Khogyani was the company's first ERJ pilot and also flies as a CRJ captain. Khogyani received a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science from
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Jazz Income Fund Board Changes
Effective January 1, Bernard Attali, Pierre Marc Johnson and David Richardson were no longer on the
Jazz Air Income Fund board directors, and Robert Brown and Marvin Yontef had left its board of trustees. As previously disclosed, Robert Milton stepped down as chair and retiring from the board of Jazz effective January 1. These changes result from
ACE Aviation Holdings Inc.'s previously announced intention to divest its remaining interest in Jazz Air Income Fund in the near future. Richard McCoy, currently a trustee of the Jazz Air Income Fund and chair of the Audit Committee, will succeed Milton as chair. McCoy has over 35 years in the investment industry and currently serves on the board of a number of Canadian public companies. In addition, the company announced the election of Sydney John Isaacs to the board of directors. Isaacs has experience in the aviation industry and was previously a partner in a national law firm dealing with corporate and commercial matters. Isaacs is currently senior vice president, corporate development and chief legal officer with
ACE Aviation Holdings Inc.
