Part 135 Charter Wants To Expand
An established Part 135 air charter service, Tradewind Aviation, is seeking a certificate of public convenience in order to fly interstate charters to high tourist demand areas.
Tradewind has been flying five single-engine planes out of Oxford, Conn., since 2002 providing on-demand charter services to various points in the Northeast.
In its application to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Tradewind wants to fly its eight-passenger and nine-passenger aircraft from Teterboro, N.J., and White Plains, N.Y., to Hyannis on Cape Cod and Nantucket Island.
At least one regional carrier now serves part of that market. Cape Air flies out of Hyannis to Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard and Provincetown. While it also flies out of Boston, it does not have a New York or New Jersey departure point.
FAA Docket: OST-05-20570.
