Comings and Goings - People In the News

  • Don Bornhorst, a 15-year veteran of Comair has taken the helm as its new president, succeeding Fred Buttrell, formerly president of Delta Connection, who held the post since January 2005 and led the airline to a resurgence in the carrier's operations and performance. Bornhorst has held leadership posts in every operating department of the airline, which is struggling to emerge from bankruptcy. A former vice president of performance management at Delta Connection, Bornhorst said his focus is the continued advancement of Comair's operational initiatives and the airline's successful emergence from Chapter 11 reorganization. Prior to Bornhorst's appointment to CFO in 2005, he was Comair's senior vice president of customers. A certified public accountant, he joined Comair in 1991 as manager of internal audit and special projects.
  • United Airlines (UAL) appointed Jane Allen senior vice president, human resources, with responsibility for United's human resource functions worldwide, including labor relations, personnel policies and issues, benefits and compensation. Allen, who joined the company in 2003, previously served as senior vice president, onboard service, a role that is being filled by Sean Donohue, currently United's vice president, customer experience. The company also announced the appointment of Monique Hines vice president, information services division, and Srisu Subrahmanyam, vice president, continuous improvement.
  • A.J. Walter Aviation appointed Matthew Millbank as business development manager, to manage and maintain long-term customer partnerships for aircraft spares support.
  • Air Taxi provider SATSair appointed Norm Steret to cover outside sales in the Southeast region. Sterrett has over 15 years experience in target-specific marketing and sales. Prior to joining SATSair, Sterrett was founder of InCounter, LLC and co-founder of InFlx, LLC.
  • Security company RJA Group named Randolph W. Tucker, PE, to the newly created position of chief strategy officer (CSO), to lead the company's global strategic planning effort while overseeing corporate strategy, alliances, business intelligence, and new initiatives.
