Bill Garvey was appointed editor-in-chief of
Business & Commercial Aviation in 2000, after serving as managing editor of AVIATION WEEK Television. He was subsequently named deputy managing editor for business aviation as well. Before joining McGraw-Hill, he was the top editor for
Flying and
Professional Pilot magazines and a member of the senior editorial staff at
Reader's Digest. He also managed communications for FlightSafety International. Bill has authored or co-authored three aviation books, was an essayist for National Public Radio, wrote aviation documentaries for The Discovery Channel, and served as host of "Aviator's World," a cable television series. During his stewardship at
Business & Commercial Aviation, the monthly magazine has received dozens of awards for editorial excellence. Bill is an active pilot with a Commercial license; he also holds multiengine, instrument, seaplane and glider ratings.
