Virgin America Announces New Fare Sale for Summer and Fall Travel Award-winning Airline Offers Unbelievably Low Fares from $49 SFO-SEA; $119 SFO-IAD; and $119 JFK-LAX*

SAN FRANCISCO, July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Virgin America, the California-based airline, today announced a new fare sale for summer and fall travel, featuring even lower fares on the airline that’s reinventing flying as we know it.  Now is the time to experience Virgin America’s award-winning service and see for yourself why the carrier has just been named “Best Domestic Airline” in the prestigious Travel + Leisure Annual World’s Best Awards readers’ survey for the second consecutive year.  Virgin America is offering amazingly low three-day advance purchase fares to all of its destinations for travel between August 18 and November 18, 2009.*

Virgin America offers a host of innovative amenities that appeal to today’s tech-savvy travelers, including touch-screen seatback entertainment, power outlets near every seat and Gogo® In-flight Internet on every flight.  In May 2009, the carrier became the first airline to offer in-flight internet on every flight.  


Tickets are on sale today on Virgin America’s website (www.virginamerica.com) and at 1.877.FLY.VIRGIN (1.877.359.8474).  Tickets must be purchased by August 11, 2009, and travel must occur between August 18 and November 18, 2009.*



Virgin America offers guests the most robust in-flight entertainment library in the U.S. skies via the seatback entertainment system, Red™.  Red offers touch-screen and remote control interactivity with 25 on-demand films, live TV, videogames, seat-to-seat chat, interactive Google maps, 3,000 MP3s and more.  Red also offers an unique on-demand menu system that allows guests to order what they want, when they want it during a flight.  Gogo In-flight Internet is available on all Virgin America flights for $12.95 for flights of over three hours; $9.95 for flights between 1.5 and three hours; and now $5.95 for short haul flights of less than 1.5 hours.

*Terms and Conditions:  All Main Cabin fares are one way and require a 3-day advance purchase. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Tickets must be purchased by 08.11.09. Travel must occur between 08.18.09 and 11.18.09. Blackout dates do not apply. Seats are limited, subject to availability, and may not be available on all flights. Flight may not operate daily during off-peak periods. Changes or cancellations can be made for a $50 fee if changes are made on Virgin America’s website (www.virginamerica.com) or a $75 fee through all other channels, including the call center and at the airport, plus any increase in fare, if applicable. Tickets purchased from Virgin America through our reservation call center will cost an additional $15 per guest per itinerary. Any added cost associated with purchasing tickets from Virgin America through our reservation call centers will be non-refundable. Fares do not include Passenger Facility Charges of up to $9 each way, September 11th Security Fees of up to $5 each way and a Federal Segment Tax of $3.60 per domestic segment. A segment is a takeoff and landing. Fares will not be honored retroactively or in exchange for any wholly or partially used ticket. Fares are not applicable to check-through connecting flights for city pairs where direct flights are offered. Virgin America will accept one (1) piece of checked baggage up to 70 pounds for $15 for each ticketed guest. The fee per guest for each additional checked bag up to 50 pounds from the second (2) to the tenth (10) is $15. Additional fees apply to baggage exceeding these weight limitations, and other baggage restrictions may apply. Fares, routes, fees and schedules are subject to change without notice.
