Supply Chain Council Seminar Focuses on Defense and IT

Design Chain Operations Model and Convergence Theme

WASHINGTON, April 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Supply Chain Council (SCC) will host at the Georgia Institute of Technology, the following events around the internationally used standard, the Supply Chain Operations Reference Model (SCOR):

SCOR Framework Training - 11-12 May 2009

SCOR Seminar - 13-14 May 2009

SCOR Convergence Training - 14 May 2009

Successful use of SCOR with other frameworks and methodologies specifically for the Defense and IT industries will be the focus of this very low priced seminar, as SCC works to make educational seminars affordable for everyone in supply chain and related professions.

The Keynote -- Moving Towards Supply and Design Chain Excellence in USAF -- will be presented by Grover Dunn, Director of Transformation, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Installations and Mission Support, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C.

Today SCOR is combined with much more than just Lean and Six Sigma, where the first convergence work emerged. Speakers will share the latest convergence implementations, including how SCOR expands into Design and Customer Chains, and empowers Risk Management, PBL, and Sustainment, as well as Six Sigma/Lean. The IT element will be engaged throughout.

This event also marks the first public review of the Design Chain Operations Reference Model (DCOR) 2.0 and the SCC's Supply Chain Excellence Awards will also be presented.

On Thursday morning, a SCORmark Benchmarking Workshop will be included for seminar attendees led by Joseph Francis, Executive Director of SCC.

Find the complete program and registration information linked from the home page of www.supply-chain.org and www.SCORlabs.org.
