Row 44 Selects AeroSat Antenna for Its Airborne Broadband System

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Row 44 today announced it has chosen AeroSat to provide the satellite antenna and additional RF components for Row 44's Broadband System for commercial aircraft. Under the agreement, AeroSat will provide 2-way KU antennas and High Power Amplifiers (HPA) for use in Row 44's system. The system will also leverage AeroSat's low-loss radome which is operating on over 20 aircraft types and has been installed by most major installation facilities.

"By using a single vendor for the entire RF chain, we optimize our system development and minimize our operational risks," said Jim Costello, Row 44's Vice President of Engineering. "AeroSat's ability to provide all the RF components, their experience with fuselage-mounted antennas and their technological leadership in Ku antennas makes them the perfect choice for us."

"We have years of experience in fielding antenna systems for Ku-band satellite communications," said William McNary, AeroSat's Vice President of Business Development. "We're proud to be a major contributor to the Row 44 solution, and we're thrilled to join with Row 44 to field this competitive solution."

The AeroSat antenna fits under the same radome AeroSat has been delivering for years. It is lighter weight and provides unmatched performance that optimizes effective data transfer rates. AeroSat's antenna, scheduled for initial system testing this month, will be on display at the booths for both AeroSat (#1130) and Row 44 (#1710) at next week's WAEA annual meeting in Toronto, Canada.

The Row 44 Broadband System is compact, lightweight, and simple to install and maintain. The Row 44 System may be integrated with existing in-flight entertainment systems. The System can be installed in two short sessions, minimizing aircraft downtime. The Row 44 Broadband System enables new opportunities in in-flight passenger connectivity, entertainment and airline operational data services.
