TORONTO,
Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Row 44 today announced that its initial
service rollout of its airborne broadband system, in the first half of 2008,
will include support for the
Airbus 320 and the Embraer 190 regional jet. This
support is in addition to previously announced support of all models of
Boeing
Corporation's 737 aircraft, including the
Boeing Business Jet (BBJ).
"In the past, high-speed, satellite broadband has been limited to
wide-body aircraft. Single aisle jets have been limited to slower data rates
systems, such as air-to-ground or L-Band solutions," said Gregg Fialcowitz,
Row 44 President. "For the first time ever, our high-speed system breaks these
boundaries and can provide a fleet-wide solution for our customers."
The Row 44 Broadband System is compact, lightweight, and simple to install
and maintain. The Row 44 System may be integrated with existing in-flight
entertainment systems. The System can be installed in two short sessions,
minimizing aircraft downtime. The Row 44 Broadband System enables new
opportunities in in-flight passenger connectivity, entertainment and airline
operational data services.
