Rob Weiss Appointed Executive Vice President of Global Sustainment for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics

FORT WORTH, Texas, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Robert F. Weiss has been named executive vice president of Global Sustainment at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., where he is responsible for ensuring lifetime support and logistical services for all Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) military aircraft products, including the F-35, F-22, F-16, C-130J, C-5, U-2 and various other legacy aircraft.

He previously served as vice president of Business Development for Aeronautics since 2005. Weiss replaces Marillyn Hewson, who in September was named president of Lockheed Martin's Systems Integration Company in Owego, N.Y.

"Developing our sustainment business is a strategic priority," said Ralph Heath, executive vice president, Lockheed Martin, and president of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. "Our customers must know that we will stand by them and our products no matter what."

Weiss will drive sustainment strategies across all Aeronautics programs, ensuring the company has the core competencies required to meet customer expectations throughout the product lifecycle. His office will be at Aeronautics' headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas.

"Our experienced Global Sustainment team provides our customers the tools, technologies and support they need to conduct day-to-day worldwide operations and meet their national security objectives," Weiss said. "Our actions, responsiveness and program performance demonstrate to our customers that we stand behind our products and are committed to helping them meet their toughest challenges," he said.
