Mesaba Flight Attendants Reach Concessionary Agreement with Company

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- After a long and difficult process, the negotiating committee for Mesaba Airlines flight attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA-CWA) announced today that they had reached a tentative concessionary agreement with management. The tentative agreement allows both parties to move forward while management navigates the airline out of bankruptcy.

"After a long battle, we are glad to reach an agreement that will allow flight attendants to continue to work at Mesaba," said Tim Evenson, Master Executive Council President. "We fought to ensure that flight attendants would not bear the full burden of our airline's recovery, but we are willing to do what it takes to make sure that our company is successful once again."

The tentative concessionary agreement will be reviewed this week by the Mesaba Master Executive Council. If approved, the tentative agreement will then go to the membership for ratification. Details regarding the tentative agreement will not be announced until after it has been presented to the entire membership.

For over 60 years, the Association of Flight Attendants has been serving as the voice for flight attendants in the workplace, in the aviation industry, in the media and on Capitol Hill. More than 55,000 flight attendants at 20 airlines come together to form AFA-CWA, the world's largest flight attendant union. AFA is part of the 700,000-member strong Communications Workers of America (CWA), AFL-CIO. Visit us at www.afanet.org.
